Claninfo

The Akiyama clan, also known as the Wolf Rider clan, is known for its closeness to nature and bestial strength. They live hidden in the mountain system of Takigakure and rarely interact with other humans.

The emergence of the clan

The clan was formed by two brothers living in a war-torn country. Hoping to bring peace to their country, they set out to find the legendary hermit Sirius. Sirius was known for giving gifts to people. The older brother wanted influence and power from Sirius. He wanted to unite the people among themselves and thus end the war. The younger brother wished for brute strength and invincibility. With these qualities, he wanted to fight on the front line and end the war as quickly as possible. When they found him, the brothers told him what they wanted, hoping that he would grant them. Sirius reacted. took a fruit and divided it in half: "I give you the fruit of life and the fruit of knowledge. If you eat of the fruit of life, you become immortal. If you eat of the fruit of knowledge, you are in the able to discern who is pure in heart and who is not."
The older brother thought to himself, >If I am immortal, I have power. That's how people would listen to me. But with the fruit of knowledge I would be able to determine who has evil intentions and who does not. Maybe that way I could solve the conflict between the two warring factions."
So he gripped the fruit of knowledge. The younger brother also considered his choice very carefully: "With the fruit of life I could make my wish come true and defeat all opponents. But what happens after that? There will always be wars. With the fruit of knowledge I could perhaps prevent that ."In the end he chose the fruit of life. When the elder brother had eaten the fruit of knowledge, he realized his younger brother's evil intentions. He had decided to kill him in order to get the skills from the fruit of knowledge. Because he´s immortal through the fruit of life, he succeeded. He then drank his brother's blood and thereby gained self-knowledge.
The younger brother now understood that his own lust for power and strength had corrupted him and that was why he had killed his own brother. Thus spoke Sirius: "Neither power nor influence nor strength can end this war. Fire cannot be fought with fire. Know yourself and you will also understand people better. Then you will also be able to end this war."And so the younger brother moved out to understand himself and people better. And this understanding helped him not only to become a better person, but also to end the war. After peace had returned to the country, he already had a wife and children. And these children were the ancestors of the Akiyama clan, who were gifted with the abilities of Sirius.

The clans residence

The Akiyama clan resides in the Waterfall Kingdom near Taki-Gakure. If you go through the waterfall and use the underwater path, you end up in the said ninja village. But near the Underwater Path there is another entrance that leads into the clan's cave system. The caves are illuminated by special minerals found only there. The houses of the clan are built in the style of Spanish houses. The Akiyama own temples and jewelry made from the mountain's precious metals. Despite the fact that they live in caves, it is always daylight because they can create artificial light using mountain minerals such as glow moss or glow crystals. Akiyama understands arts, crafts, and ironsmithing as they make everything themselves. They only go outside to hunt, otherwise they would not be able to get anything to eat. the clan lives a secluded life so that no one but the members themselves know of their actual existence.

The characteristics of an Akiyama

The Akiyama clan is an elf clan, so they have pointed ears and fangs too. Also typical of clan members are the flourishes that run all over their bodies. While the black tattoo signifies pure-blood clan members, the blue flourishes appear as one matures.Akiyama have ice blue or turquoise eyes. In particularly "animal" members, the pupil is slit-like. Rarely, some members have cornflower blue eyes. Akiyama are mostly blonde or brunette. Rarely, some members have red hair. Their skin color varies greatly. However, they are not snow-white or deep dark brown.

But the jewelry and clothing are also striking. Akiyama wear clothes appropriate for elves and are worn in special colors. Most often, this clothing has squiggly embellishments, moon or butterfly patterns. The moon, sun, butterflies and stars can also be found in their jewellery. Akiyama wear gold, silver, precious stones and coral and shell jewelry. In addition, each member wears a special necklace with YingYang symbolism and a belt with the clan mark.Priests and altar boys wear specific robes, artists and architects adorn their clothing with subtle glitter. Women adorn themselves with special pearl jewelry or the flowers customary in the clan. Akiyama also wear subtle makeup.

Techniques

Members of the Akiyama clan do not close finger signs because they specialize in taijutsus. The manipulation and control of the chakra also plays a major role in combat. The chakra has a special coloring in members of the clan. Clan members are also tougher, stronger, and have keener senses than normal ninja.

Chakra technique

1. They envelop their hand(s) (comparable to Hinata with her twin flames) and shoot or smack them at their opponents.
2. They use it to strengthen their weapons, such as bows and arrows or swords.
3. They strengthen their body's own powers and can thus use very powerful Taijutzu.

Kekke Genkai

Members of the Akiyama Clan can awaken the Hyogan, much like Uchiha can awaken the Sharingan. The Hyogan acquires an Akiyama through self-knowledge or when learning to better understand others. Because Akiyama are shy of contact, only very few members have this doujutzu. Particularly kind members can evolve their Hyogan into a Hyoshogan. When the Hyogan is used, the possessor can generate chakra crystals. The Hyoshogan gives him self-healing powers.

The Wolf partner

Their wolf partners are used less for fighting and more for hunting. If they do fight, Akiyama wolves can take their partners anywhere pretty quickly and augment their bodily abilities with chakra. However, they do not master techniques like the Inuzuka.

Summoned Creatures

Akiyama basically use light blue glowing butterflies as familiar spirits. These can vary in shape and type. These butterflies can use the Akiyama's chakra to paralyze their opponents by altering their chakra flow. They are also used as spionage tools.

The weaknesses

A major weakness of Akiyama is genjutzu. They can become frightened and demoralized very quickly as a result. When they are sad and grieved, their fighting ability also suffers. Akiyama are also sensitive to excessive blood loss. Their tolerance level is a lot lower than that of a normal human.

Way of life

A pure-blood member of the clan is given a companion wolf at the age of six. The pup is selected from the wolf pack living with the clan. When man and wolf get along, they are partners and spend their whole lives together. The wolf is not only a transport animal and companion on the hunt, they also get involved in real fights. However, the teamwork between Wolf and Akiyama cannot be compared to the fighting techniques of the Inuzuka. In addition to the wolf partner, the child gets the clan mark burned into their face. Because it is positioned directly under the eye, it hurts accordingly. But neither boys nor girls scream or cry to show their strength. The Akiyama clan should thus become richer in strong companions. So it's a matter of honor not to shout. Non-Pureblood members do not get this ceremony. The clan therefore does not recognize them as full members of their clan.Joining the clan is celebrated with a small party. The clan gathers and sweet treats are served. There is dancing, music and laughter. In addition to the four different high priests who worship the moon, Sirius, the stars or Adam Kadmon, Akiyama celebrate pagan festivals such as the winter solstice or Walpurgis Night.
Basically, Akiyama love festivals, especially when the alcohol is flowing and there's a lot of music playing.
Akiyama like to hunt, but eat mostly vegetarian food. You can see them especially in autumn and winter, when fruit and grain are scarce. They also warm themselves with the furs. When a clan member seeks work, they can become either a priest or a hunter, a tailor, a craftsman, a farmer or a blacksmith. There are fewer artists who bring out the culture of the Akiyama. Takero is the acting leader and watches over the clan.Everything is shared among each other, which is why trade is hardly necessary. If trades are made, then with valuables instead of money. Akiyama are often referred to as wild beasts, because they can become bloodthirsty when hunting, but are, with a few exceptions, very nice and sociable people.

Work

In addition to the activities that Akiyama carry out in their own household, they can also have a job. They choose between seven professions.
PRIEST: Akiyama have the chance to become either priest or acolyte. While the priests give speeches, perform rituals, look after the members of their congregation and become pastoral active, acolytes are responsible for the preparation.
HUNTER: Akiyama have the chance to become Hunter or Butcher. Hunters hunt and kill prey. They only become important in winter, when plant food becomes scarce and warming furs are needed. Butchers cut up the animal, convert what is needed and pass the fur on to the tailors. In the summer, hunters and butchers help the farmers.
TAILOR: Tailors sew clothes for clan members, produce fabrics, furs and leather.
CRAFTSMAN: Under the guidance of architects, craftsmen produce houses, furniture, tools and facilities.
BLACKSMITH: Blacksmiths make weapons and process precious metals, shells, and coral into jewelry
ARTISTS: The collective term artists includes architects, wall/painters, stone carvers and other creative works. Architects plan and design houses and paths. Painters paint walls and beautify the clan's living quarters with their art. Stone carvers work stones and form fesques, figurines and other decorations. they thus shape the culture of the Akiyama.
FARMER: There are farmers and gatherers. Farmers plant flowers, trees, fruit and crops. During Autumn they gather the harvest. Collectors collect mushrooms, luminous moss, corals, shells and precious metals.

Worshipping

Akiyama are very religious. But what they believe is very different.
SIRIUS: This denomination is based on the hermit Sirius, who met their founding father and bestowed his powers on him. Members of this faith therefore believe that Sirius is a god and worship him. Its symbol is the wolf's head. Members of the Sirius-believ carry the history of the Clan to the nextgenerations.
ADAM QUADMON: Adam Quadmon is referred to as the original human who stands on God's side and possesses wisdom, glory, and immortality. So Adam is primarily associated with purity. The clan's own doujutsu is said to be a spark from him. Members of this faith want to maintain their purity or work toward becoming a pure human being.
THE MOON: Moon-believing members reflect on their wolf nature and their connection to their animal companions. The moon not only determines the tides, but also the fertility of women and is therefore also associated with fertility.
THE STARS: Because Sirius came from the stars, members of this bevieve, attribute divine powers to the stars. They devote themselves to reading and interpreting stars, thereby predicting the future.
In addition to the special festivals tailored to each belief, Akiyama also celebrate common festivals. Like the winter solstice, for example. The high priests of the respective believe live in competition with each other and try to win as many clan members as possible for their respective believe.
